Why the CPA is Important :
More importantly, "Why should I use a CPA?" Well simply put, a CPA is to business what a Doctor is to health or what a Lawyer is to human rights. It is ours, the CPA's responsibility, to help society understand & quantify the significance of economic activiy. What does that mean in plain English? The Public including individuals, business owners, local, state, & national governments, banks, and stock market shareholders all rely on CPAs to report on the financial condition of people, business entities, government agencys and publicly traded companies they are either doing business with or invested in. Essentially, we, CPAs, are supposed to be in the middle reporting on transactions and business concerns so that all parties involve know the "economic effect" as it relates to them based on Generally Accepted Acounting Prinicples. From the employee who gets a paycheck stub to a Annual Stockholder Report issued to millions of shareholders for a Publicly Traded Company, it is vital that the CPA get it right for all involved - including society as a whole!! When the CPA fails, individuals, shareholders and society suffer.
